Digi Stamp Repair

Hi Everyone:

Just wanted to pop in here to share with you a quick way to fix a digital stamp mistake. This was suppose to be posted yesterday but due to my changing my blog template, I ran into some technical difficulties. But it got resolved and it's all good now! Lol. So here is something that I learned while making a card recently. So when it happened I thought, why not take pics and show how to fix it in a tutorial. So you see, the bad can always be turned into something good. Lol. I am so glad that it did! Hope that it is helpful.

Now some of you may have already figured this out, but for me, if I made a mistake on something wither it was a digital stamped image or a wooden stamped image, it would get tossed into the trash can. Well time is precious and I put a lot of hard work into colouring this card that I made and couldn't see myself throwing it out. Solution- restamp, colour, glue over top of first image. Simple enough right! This is what I came up with.

So this is what it looked like in the beginning.

I was going for country looking colours, but it didn't work. The colours were way to dark.

So I needed to colour the dresses again.Embarrassed smiley face animated emoticonSo a lighter purple and blue would work much better I think and not the colour you see in the picture above or to the side.

Reading Instructions: Print out Digital Stamp on watercolour paper & colour the pieces that need repair. ( I thought the type in the balloon was big enough. Sorry! My Bad!! )

So colour the image again adding
shading and highlights.

Once the pieces are coloured, cut out and glue to the area needing repair. Use a good sturdy glue, like glossy accents or Tombo Mono Glue. Make sure to cover the entire area. Make sure to smooth out to the very end of the edge of the piece your repairing or you will have a edge that will be raised. It will not look like the original stamped image. You will need it to lay flat. It might help to lay an heavy object over top so it dries evenly. Hope that makes sense.

I still like the darker colours better, but due to the fact that those colours were not copic or a water base marker they dried very dark. Not the look I was going for. Maybe that will be something that ends up under my tree this Christmas. I asked for blend able markers. Let's see if I was good enough to get them this year. Lol. Anyway, the pieces were glued over top of the first stamped image and it looks like nothing never happened right!  I love this stamp set and hope to try using it again and yes, with a better choice of country colours. I love country style, decor and things, and this digital stamp set reminds me of that. You can purchase it here at the Clear Dollar Stamps store. It is a great stamp with so many possibilities. Just wanted to also share that Clear Dollar Stamps is having a huge sale on it's rubber stamps. 60% off all Clear Acrylic Stamps. WOWZERS!!! Check it out! You won't want to miss this amazing deal.

I trust that this tutorial will be helpful to you when you have a frustrated creating moment. Thanks for dropping bye and I trust that your will on your way for being prepared for the big day. Well, my carpets are almost all cleaned/shampooed and my tree is up waiting to be decorated. I was suppose to do it on the 16th but I was way too tired. It was my birthday and we had company in to help celebrate. I just had to go to bed early because it was getting late. So my tree sits sadly waiting to be noticed. Lol. Well it will be done tonight, even if it is the last thing I do!! Lol. Okay gotta go!

Until next time....
Take Care & God Bless

Clear Dollar Stamps December Release

Welcome to another Clearly Digi Stamps Release Day by Clear Dollar Stamps. This time around I picked two sets by Laurie Wilson. The first one I used was Birthday Bash.

Now the possibilities are endless with this digital set. I know I say that about several of the sets at Clear Dollar Stamps store. But they do have many wonderful sets to purchase. So this is the card that I created. It is my take on CAS style cards. Believe it or not, I didn't use any distress ink on this card. Lol. I know! It's hard to believe!!

This set is so versatile and can be used for Baby Shower cards also.

Gift Packaging Ideas

Hi Everyone:

I thought that I would share an idea I had for a Christmas Gift bag using Hero Arts digital stamp set and cling rubber stamps. I purchased this Digital Set called 4 Santa's from 2Peas and fell in love with it.

I also used this set CL539 Laughter & Joy for my sentiment.

The Santa that I used was kind of whimsical so I wanted to go with a fun sentiment as well and used the one from this set. So here is my Gift Bag. This project is being submitted to the Color Throwdown Challenge with this beautiful picture for inspiration:

Close Up of Colouring

This project is being submitted to the following challenges:

Simon Says: Snowflakes
Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes/Giving
Tuesday Alchemy: Anything But A Card
Paper Crafts Connection: December Gallery Challenge

The coloring of this Santa was with Staedtler Watercolour Crayons and Pencils. I just love how the crayons makes this guy's hat pop. The white crayon is my favorite because it is so great for those highlights that every project just needs to have. Lol.

There are so many Christmas challenges going on right now. These are some of the places that I have been checking out and wanting to play along with:

I really hope to play along with these challenges, but with no shopping completed yet, or inside decorating started, it may be something that I will complete at the last minute. Lol. Maybe just maybe I will take a night for myself with a sign that says, " Mom's Away On A Crafting Retreat! Lol. It won't work though, because I do the " Talk To The Hand" gesture and I still get spoken to with the look to respond back. Lol. Oh well, can't blame a gal for trying.

The last one I soooo want to do. Jill's work is out of this world and my mouth hits the floor almost every time. I swear. She has been blessed with so much talent and I am so proud of her. Thanks for inspiring sweetie. Hugs.

Okay that is it for me until next time. Thanks for dropping bye and I hope that I have inspired you to decorate your own paper bags to make some fun Christmas creations.

Blessings

Sketch Challenge

CHALLENGE 1st & 3rd FRIDAYS

Challenge # 65

Hi Everyone:

The new CiC Challenge is up at Clearly iStamp blog and this time around it is a little different. Different how? Well this time there isn't a theme but a sketch. This is an amazing sketch. Thanks to sweet Cassie for putting it together for us.

We would love to see you utilize this sketch. Flip it or keep it just as is. Add an image or no image at all. We just want to see you be creative while still maintaining the integrity of the sketch.  So link up your card for a chance to win some Digital Stamps by Clearly Digi Stamps by Clear Dollar Stamps.

This is my take on this sketch. I really enjoyed using this one because it helped me to get some of my mojo back. Lol.  I was going for a rustic but elegant feel if that makes sense.

The following Card is being submitted to the following challenges:
Simon Says: Snowflakes
Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes
CiC Challenge 65: Sketch Challenge
Everybody-Art-Challenge Christmas
Papelitos Stamps Anything Goes
  Papertake Weekly Anything Goes
Celebrate The Occasion: Christmas No Red or Green
Clear It Out! Use Old Supplies, Christmas or Red White and Green
Ribbon Carousel Challenge Holiday Spirit

The Stamping Boutique Holiday Cards

This card was made using the Poinsettia Stamp by Clear Dollar Stamps. The image was enlarged and actually flipped to face towards the left. I know that these flowers are not normally brown, but to be honest it started out cream but ended up like this. Lol. I still really like it though. But brown is one of my favorite colours, especially choc. or drk brown. Sentiment was from the new Christmas Card sentiment set by Lori McCluskey.

Card Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill, Recollections, Canston Watercolour Paper
Inks: Walnut & Vintage Ink/Ranger Distress Inks

So when I saw this Stamp set I knew I just had to make a card with them. Clear Dollar Stamps November Release

Welcome to another Clearly Digi Stamps Release Day by Clear Dollar Stamps. This month the digital sets are totally amazing. This release is sure to please and the variety is wonderful. I had a difficult time choosing which sets I wanted to work with. I first decided to work with a set by the ever talented Lisa Lara, called Happy Houses.

Now the possibilities are endless with this digital set. Those houses are the most adorable and can be used for wonderful CAS style cards. Here is my take using this set. I have to say that I love how this card turned out. So bold and bright.

This card is being submitted to the following challenges:
Twisted Tuesday  Stamp on Pattern Paper
Top Tip Tuesday  Include Hearts on Your Project
Forever Friends Anything Goes
Scrapping Everyday Miracles Family Themed + Ribbon
Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes

I actually paper pieced this image together. I printed the image on several types of patterned paper and bright coloured cardstock. The windows were left white and coloured in with Tombo markers. The shading on the roof, around the windows, around the grass edge, on the chimney and around the entire scene was with Staedtler Watercolour pencils. The front panel was adhered to a black cardbase. To pull it all together, yellow Baker's Twine was tied around the bottom portion of the card. Using bright and cheerful papers really can make a card pop!!!

Embellishments: Baker's Twine by Studio Calico

The next set that I had the privilege to work with was the Get Well Critter Digital set by the very talented Laurie Wilson. It was difficult to pick just one cute critter. Lol.

These cuties are so great for those cards that you want to add, with a Care Package. They can even be used for tags that can be tied around the handle of a yummy Fruit Basket. I fell in love with that absolutely adorable mouse first when I saw this kit and just knew what I wanted to create. Are you like that? See something right away and know what you are going to make with it!! Well this was one of those times for me. Here is what I came up with.

This card is being submitted to the following challenges:
Can You Digi It : Favorite Animal
Craft Room Challenge  Punches & Die Cuts
  Papertake Weekly Flower Power
Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes

The image was printed on watercolour paper and then coloured with watercolour pencils. Pink areas were coloured with Staedtler Tri-Plus fine tip markers. Yellow note card was die cut using Sizzix Machine and a Spellbinders die. After colouring, the image was adhered to the note card and embellished with pastel coloured pearls. A strip of teal blue paper was cut in banner style and placed down the front of a kraft cardbase. White ribbon was tied around the card before adding note card with mouse. To tie everything together, and to bring a little more attention to the rust colour in the image, a flower of the same colour was added to the card front. To complete the card a sentiment was added to the cardfront. Voila! A cute and whimsical card! Lol.
